A Floral Adventure in Belgium: My Experience at Fleuropean

A Floral Adventure in Belgium:

My Experience at Fleuropean

In August of 2024, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Belgium to attend Fleuropean, an immersive flower workshop hosted by my dear friend, Emily. I’m always looking for ways to expand my floral knowledge and creativity, and this workshop offered the perfect setting for that. Held at a stunning historic chateau, the experience allowed me to connect with flowers in ways I hadn’t before—making it truly unforgettable.

The chateau where we stayed was absolutely magical. Its historic charm, from the grand staircases to the lush, blooming gardens, provided the perfect backdrop for our floral explorations. This beautiful setting gave me a chance to slow down, unwind, and focus on my floral artistry—something we can all use in our fast-paced lives, especially for brides and event planners looking to create memorable, unique floral designs.

One of the highlights of the workshop was diving deep into various floral designs. I created a stunning bridal bouquet, an elegant centerpiece, and participated in a collaborative group installation. Each piece challenged me to think outside the box and push my creative boundaries. The experience not only enhanced my technical skills but also helped me rediscover the emotional connection I have with flowers, a passion I’m eager to share with my Utah clients.

Another rewarding aspect of the workshop was the amazing group of florists I had the privilege to work alongside. I met talented individuals from Spain, Germany, Switzerland, and Los Angeles, all of whom brought unique perspectives to the table. Collaborating with such a diverse group of creatives was a true inspiration, and I returned home with new ideas and techniques that I’m excited to incorporate into my wedding and event floral designs in Salt Lake City.

Belgium is also known for its incredible food, and I was lucky enough to enjoy meals prepared by a local chef that were absolutely divine. The fresh, seasonal ingredients and local flavors fueled our creativity and left us all in awe. As a florist, it’s a reminder of how much beauty and creativity can be found in all aspects of life—something I aim to bring to every event I create in Utah.

My time at Fleuropean in Belgium was truly transformative, both personally and professionally. Coming back to Salt Lake City with renewed inspiration has made me more excited than ever to work with my clients on crafting one-of-a-kind floral arrangements for their weddings and events. The workshop was a reminder that growth happens when you step outside of your comfort zone and immerse yourself in new experiences—and I’m so grateful for it.

If you're planning a wedding or event in Salt Lake City, Utah, and you want to create something truly spectacular with custom floral designs, I’d love to collaborate with you! Whether it’s a breathtaking bridal bouquet, elegant centerpieces, or a floral installation, I’m here to bring your vision to life with the passion and creativity I gained from my time in Belgium.
